“All DMs need memorable, fearsome monsters to populate their dungeons and challenge their PCs, and the Midgard Bestiary is designed and tested to provide you with the very best.”

Last year I had the opportunity to work on an incredible project. Rich Green and myself, with the guidance of Wolfgang Baur, went through five years of Kobold Quarterly/Open Design publications to pull together a list of the most iconic, fearsome, mind boggling and memorable creatures in Midgard. We updated them to keep them in the same context, and gave them modern, 4e statistics. When we were done we added a host more, so even the biggest Zobeck fan would find new surprises as they flipped through the pages.

Then something amazing happened. Wizards of the Coast announced the next edition of D&D. We’re all rooting for D&DNext, to make good on all its design goals, and live up to the D&D name. The only problem is, we’re not done with 4e yet. We’re willing to bet a lot of other gamers aren’t done either.

The Midgard Bestiary is completely written and edited. It’s got brand new art and the high quality layout work you expect from an Open Design product has begun. What it needs now is a headcount. We need people to stand up and show that they’re not done playing 4e. This Kickstarter will help us do exactly that.

In exchange, you get an incredible product. There’s over 150 creatures in this book, with guest contributors like Tracy Hurley, John Pope and Paul Baalham. The PDF is only 10 dollars. Get the softcover book, with shipping in the US, for only 25. Higher level patrons get bonus bestiaries, and an exclusive low level adventure using monsters in this book, making it easy for you to run a game in the world of Midgard.

In addition, you show publishers and other gamers that you still want 4e content! Get the bloggers blogging again and the writers writing. Plus. . . its just an awesome book. I mean, you really want this book.

Check out the Kickstarter page for more information, to see the video and all the reward tiers. I think you’ll like what you see.
