Based on the bestselling fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, comes the HBO series Game of Thrones. Sure, there’s a bit of *artistic hanky-panky,* but really, and I mean really… there’s a great story told through some really great acting. As was said elsewhere, it’s “a sprawling, interwoven tale of feuding families, swords, sex, carnage, beasts, frayed loyalties, deception, intrigue and the pursuit of power.”
If you’re interested in the roleplaying game (which I’m currently playing), here’s some more info.
Check the series out. It’s awesome. The second season premiers today…
Reading the first four books in the Game of Thrones has kept me fully occupied over the last few months. I hear the TV series is great, though I have to ask myself “Self, you just spent over 50 hours reading the story, do you want to spend just as much time watching the TV version?”
My friends all tell me that yes, yes I do want to watch it. Ahh peer pressure, you evil beast. I don’t know if my friends are right. I guess the only way to find out is sit down for the next 13 hours and check out Season 1. It seems like the only fair solution.
My man, I’m glad you came to your senses.
Though I can’t say whether you will like watching it after reading the books, I will say that me not really knowing anything about the series, I absolutely loved watching it.
In Stargate: Atlantis, Jason Momoa made me cringe every time he had any screen-time. Game of Thrones made me appreciate him as an actor. He has a scene where he gets all fired up, yelling in rage in his native language, and it’s just cool. Actually, seeing his performance in GoT convinced me to Redbox Conan yesterday. (kind of a tangent, there, but whatever)
